Hello ladies!

I know it’s been a while! A lot of changes in my life since the last post have kept me very busy but hopefully now I’m back for good!! And I have a lot of new ideas to share with you! And some product reviews coming soon…

But for now I will leave you with one of my most successful Konad experiments so far!

I just loved the way this combination turned out. The silver polish was Ludurana and it stamped surprisingly well! So this is great for all my Brazilian readers who are always asking me which polishes to use to stamp instead of the Konad ones.

The base colour was the last polish I bought by Sally Hansen before I found out they are not officially Cruelty-free. Here is everything I used:

Sally Hansen Grey Area for the base colour, Ludurana Prata Puro to stamp and Bundle Monster BM21 for the design

Well, it’s that time of year again and I decided to look back at what I did for Christmas last year (when I had a lot more time in my hands).

Here are my Christmas themed creations from 2010:

Psychedelic Rub-on Nails

After this long hiatus I am finally back!!!

And I bring you my latest creation using Rub-ons:

For this mani I used Revlon Make Mine Mango as my base colour and a sheet of this scrapbook rub-on I bought on sale at a crafts store. This type of mani is super easy and doesn’t require much in the skills department. I’ll give you the step-by-step below.

To do a Rub-on mani you wil need:

- nail polish of your choice to be your base colour

- Scrapbook rub-on (purchased at any crafts supply store)

- Top coat polish of your choice

How to:

1. Apply base colour nail polish. Put on as many layers as needed to cover nails completely

2. Wait for nail polish to dry. It has to dry enough that you can apply pressure and rub on it without any damage.

3. Cut desired rub-on from the sheet to fit your nail.

4. Using scotch tape fix the rub-on on the desired position on the nail.

5. Using a popsicle stick or your nails rub the back of the rub-on until it’s entirely transferred.

6. Peel the tape and rub-on sheet off your nail.

7. Apply top coat. This step is important so your mani lasts longer!!!

8. Go show off your nails to everyone you see!!!

Girly Crackle

Today’s nails are pretty simple but still a good alternative to regular manis because of the crackle and matte effects. I’ve been resorting to this type of combo a lot lately since you may have notice I haven’t had much free time lately!

Well, here is my latest use of the crackle collection by Ludurana:

I don’t normally go for pastel or girly shades but I like this combo especially because of the matte finish. I used a matte polish as my base (Revlon - Powder Puff) and added the Crackle on top which dries matte anyway. So there is no top coat on this one.

Holo on Holo (sponged tips)

HI Ladies!!

Today I bring you and experiment I had been wanting to make forever and I finally got around to it. I love the OMG collection by China Glaze and luckily I have been able to get most of my favourite colours before they were discontinued. This time I wanted to used two of the colours together and this is what I came up with: (no artificial light, cloudy day)

I really like the combo and the sponged tips kind of remind me of an ice cream cone for some reason. Here is another shot: (indoors, artificial light)

For this combo I used China Glaze TMI as a base and China Glaze FYI (pictured below) for the tips.

Flakies Comparison - Ludurana Vs. Color Club

I love the flakie effect so I was really happy when Ludurana sent me their new Flaked line to try out. I posted about the line before here. What I noticed was that Ludurana’s Arco-iris (rainbow) looked just like Color Club’s Covered in Diamonds, at least in the bottle they did. So I decided to compare the two and here they are:

They turned out quite different on the nails. Color club’s flakes are visibly larger and one coat doesn’t seem to covered the nail that well. Ludurana’s flakes, on the other hand, are much smaller and with just one coat it practically covers the whole are with the flakie effect. Another difference is that Color club’s flakes are not only bigger but thicker so you can see the flakes spiking up on the nails which means they end up falling off after a couple of days if you don’t apply a thick layer of top coat.

All in all I think Ludurana’s Arco-Iris produces a more delicate effect which lasts longer, plus it is much cheaper than Color Club. However, Ludurana can only be found in Brazil so if you have access only to Color CLub and you want the flakies effect it’s still a very good polish and will not disappoint you.

Ludurana Rosa Chiclete (bubblegum pink) as a base colour, Ludurana Arco-iris as a top coat and Color CLub Covered in Diamonds as a top coat.

Ludurana Lilac (Crackle)

I finally got around to testing Ludurana’s Crackle line. I was sent a few of the colours to try and the first combo I wanted to test was pink and black so I chose Lilac from the crackle line over Black Diamond from the marbled line.

I was very happy with the result! The crackle pattern looks great and it really shows the polish underneath it. Here is another shot showing the glitter of the base polish through the cracks:

Ludurana - Vermelho Tango (Tango red)

Hi ladies!!!

Sorry for the break! Things are crazy at work for the summer! Can you believe I spent a whole week with naked nails? I know, absurd!

Well, I’m back now and I bring you this week’s colour, Ludurana’s Vermelho Tango.

This red is gorgeous! It’s a great shade for the summer since it’s more on the bright side. I love how glossy it is. This is with 2 coats and no top coat. Here is another shot under different lighting.

Girly nails

I really wanted to use the polishes from the marbled line by Ludurana for nail art because the colours seem to go so well together and this is what I came up with:

Since the colours are all in the pastel line and they are all glittery it came out really girly, a bit too girly for me but I still wore it for a whole week and got lots of compliments!

For this one I used Ludurana Quartzo as my base, Ludurana Acqualux for the tips and Ludurana Faiscante for the dots. All polishes can be seen here on my Marbled line post.
